Welcome to 2019-2020 School Year!
My name is Courtney Carone and I am very excited to be working with your child! I look forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the 2019-2020 school year, and supporting their growth and development, in order to become active community members both in and outside of the classroom.
Some helpful information about myself: I grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During my three years working in a Kindergarten classroom, I realized my passion for education, and went back to school to receive my Master of Arts in Special Education. This is my second year at Roberto Clemente and I am thrilled to be back! Outside of school I enjoy being active, running, yoga, playing sports, and spending time with my family and friends.
As the Special Education Teacher for Kindergarten through Second Grade, I will provide support in the General Education classroom, as well as additional support outside of the classroom in order to help students access the curriculum. Constant collaboration will occur between the classroom teachers and myself, in order to provide individualized instructional support for all students. My goal is to help him or her to strengthen their skill sets in order to be successful within the classroom and larger community.
