We are working on learning about certain elements of art: colors, shapes, and lines.

We are currently learning about the artist Heather Galler and her landscape paintings. 

 

3-5

We are working on portraits. We started with learning about Danny Haas and his super hero portraits. We are currently working on dog portraits in the style of Heather Galler, making sure that we are focusing on color, shapes, and lines within our portraits. 

 

6-8

Students worked on name designs, where we focused on typography, using serif and sans serif fonts, as well as making sure our artwork had balance. We are currently talking about Pop Art and Pop Up effects, and combining both types of art to make a pop art pop up page. Each student is choosing a popular brand and making it into the style of pop art while adding a pop up effect to their project. (See examples in the attached files)
